We might finally get Mobile Number Portability in India by Oct 31 according to a statement by the TRAI chairman. In India since last year people are waiting for this service. And According to TRAI the service will be available after Oct31, 2010.
“There will be no further delay in the implementation of MNP” said The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman JS Sarma.
For those who wondering what MNP (Mobile Number Portability) is , it a service that will allow you to retain your mobile number while switching to another operator. The switching charge will be Rs. 19 approx.
We would advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt as MNP has been delayed so many times already .
